Being centered means that you have a reference point or place to come back to when life challenges and emotions push you off balance. The center is the place you know you have to gt back to. This piece subtly describes the act of getting back to that reference point. We are experiencing life so things happen that will take you off course mentally. It is important to get back to a balance. To recognize when energy is of and when focus needs to be shifted. . I hope that viewers gain a sense of comfort and calmness. I would also like for viewers to feel centered in while recognizing what is important within themselves.
I chose to lightly texture the canvas instead of the heavy application i have done previously. The colors I choose during the process organic. I begin with dark and build up with lighter colors. I did in fact choose to only focus on the center of the canvas. and apply the lighter colors around the focal point in order to bring the eyes to the middle. I chose to use interior and acrylic paint because of its ability to move and blend with each other. I write small words numbers and messages with pencil as well.
